Longer arguments, for when the guides are not enough.
The channel that measures itself most generously wins the budget
Every ad platform reports on its own performance using its own attribution window and its own definition of a conversion. Given a room full of self-reports and no independent measure, budget flows toward whichever platform is most optimistic — not whichever is most effective. This is a structural problem and no amount of dashboard discipline fixes it.
Most advertising automation is optimisation without an objective
Bid strategies optimise toward the conversion event they were given. If that event is a form fill, the system will find the cheapest form fills in the market, and it will be very good at it. The objective, not the algorithm, is what decides whether that is useful.
Guardrails are not a limitation on autonomy. They are what makes it possible
Nobody hands spend authority to a system they cannot bound. Written limits — spend ceilings, movement caps, protected campaigns, evidence thresholds — are the precondition for letting software act at all, which is why they come before the automation rather than after the first incident.
One goal. Every channel. Real business truth.
